About Me

I grew up in Los Altos, CA, in a proud Reform Jewish household. I was active in NFTY in high school and my congregation was my second home. I went to Duke University for my undergraduate degree, where I studied Spanish and History, and wrote an honors thesis on the black-Jewish coalition during the American Civil Rights Movement. During college, I also studied abroad in Madrid, Spain, and volunteered in Salta, Argentina. After graduating from Duke, I worked for the Union for Reform Judaism to support the Mitzvah Corps program — an immersive social justice travel experience for high school students. My work for Mitzvah Corps further cultivated my passion for Jewishly-inspired social justice and cemented my goal of becoming a rabbi.

Throughout my years at HUC I have served many unique communities: I worked with Rabbi Ezra Ende in Israel at the Reform community Kehillat HaDror, I taught religious school at Brooklyn Heights Synagogue, and for the past three years I have served as rabbinic intern at The Community Synagogue with Rabbi Irwin Zeplowitz. In 2018 and 2019, I served as the student rabbi at Bowdoin College Hillel for the High Holidays. And in the summer of 2021, I worked as a chaplain intern at The New Jewish Home, providing spiritual care to elderly patients from a wide range of religious backgrounds. Working with so many different communities has taught me how to engage people of all ages and has helped me appreciate the diversity of the Jewish world.

In May of 2021, I earned a Masters degree in Hebrew Literature and a Masters degree in Jewish Nonprofit Management from the Zelikow School of Jewish Nonprofit Management. For my Z School capstone project, I created a prototype for a young adult organization called Nosh: A Community for Jewish Foodies. I also have particular experience in development and fundraising work, and I am looking forward to utilizing those skills in my rabbinate.

At HUC, I am a student leader at the Soup Kitchen, and I was selected by my classmates as committee chair for the New York campus Kallah. I am extremely committed to the communities that I am a part of — whether that is my school community or my community in Lower Manhattan. I believe that Jewish tradition is relevant and applicable to all aspects of our life, and I hope to inspire the people I work with to find their passion in Jewish life.

In my free time, I love to watch Duke basketball, play tennis, go for long walks, and travel with my husband, Ryan. I cannot wait to get to know your community!
